Duren THE WORD OF GOD Matthew 22:1-14Philippians 4:1-9MESSAGE Entitlement Chaz SniderHYMN “In Christ Alone”In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength,My song; this Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of Peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My Comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save.‘Till on the cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied. For ev’ry sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain:Then bursting forth in glorious Day, Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,For I am His and He is mine--Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the pow’r of Christ in me;From life’s first cry to final breath,Jesus commands my destiny. No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man,Can ever pluck me from His hand; ‘Til He returns or calls me home, here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.POSTLUDE “Raise the Song on High” ScottThe sanctuary flowers are given to the glory of God in memory of Michael Burton, by Bob and Jo Burton.Serving TodayElder Greeter: Glenn Mabe Trustee Greeter: Matt Eckard Elder Greeter for October 22nd: Joyce Leonard Trustee Greeter for October 22nd: Joel MabeNursery Workers for today: Kaye Brookshire, Lauren MabeNursery Workers for October 22nd: Tracie Marshall, Grace JarrettPeople for Whom We are PrayingMembers:Marie Adams; Annie Boyd; Amanda Bowles; Frances Collins; Ann and Jim Cranford; Cindy Culverhouse; Sharon Dailey, spine; Ruth Long; Alice PierceHome Bound Members: Bertha Burge; Peggy GimmonFriends:Emily Burge; Stafford Givens, newborn son of Anna Austin Givens; Joann Burge Long, Ken Burge’s sister; Jeannie Randall, breast cancer, Sharon Dailey’s sister; Marolyn Schauss cancer; Rosemary Stewart, recovering; Revelle Washburn, friend of Beth Mabe; Damon Wear, cancer; Jake Williams, Donna Williams’s sonOur Christian love and sympathy are expressed to Ann Cranford and family in death of James Hill Cranford on October 5th.Worship SeriesOctober 1 – October 29The Enemies of GratitudeDateTitleTextOctober 22GreedMatthew 22:15-22All Saints DayOctober 29DisappointmentDeuteronomy 34:1-12Church CouncilNovember 12, After Church ServiceWe want to make our Church Council Booklet again this year for others to see what is going on here at Ardmore. The Lord is near. 6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
